01.02.09 - An outage of Domain Name Services from approximately 4:00pm 01/02/09 till 1:30am 02/02/09 will have caused problems with access to customer websites and email. The problem was caused by an electricity failure in the Central business district of Melbourne. The failure also prevented electrical supplies from our standby generator unit. The matter is under further investigation with our electrical suppliers.

All services have returned to normal. A backlog of email will have cleared by Opening of business Monday 02/02/09. If you have any questions or problems please contact us.

A major high voltage power failure occured at our data centre between the times indicated above.
Standby generators started but were unable to sustain the electrical load due to one generator failing to synchonise. This resulted in customer web and email sites being down for this time. Many other providers were affected by this issue and Internet routing was destabilised during this time.

Our data centre staff have scheduled large scale remedial action and restructuring of incoming power system beginning next weekend (2009-08-16) and continuing
into the future.

All email and web sites are now back on line.
